Wedding Photography Agreement

What You’re Purchasing: This signed contract constitutes an order for film wedding photography. Client is purchasing the photographer’s expertise, artistic abilities, in depth guidance, many years of experience, responsibilities assumed during the event, use of equipment, along with the actual time involved before, during and after the event. A base rate of $2,000.00 plus proof printing expenses and any other related expenses will be charged. The base rate includes 9 hours of the photographer’s time. This may also include an expert assistant who may step in during any part of the day (check here if applicable __ ) If extra time is needed, it may be purchased at the rate of $150.00/hour. If less time is needed, a $100.00 per hour reduction will be applied. Client agrees to pay photographer for any extra time the photographer is needed to stay. Photographer agrees to provide the end product in a timely manner, within three weeks of the wedding date:

The End Product: Client will be provided with
1) Proofs (minus any that obviously call for deletion (eyes closed, blurred, etc.)
2) Copyrights. Rights to copy, print and enlarge will be shared by both client and photographer. However, client may not sell images commercially, while the photographer may use the images however may be commercially beneficial.
3) Two sets of CD’s and two signed contracts will be furnished to enable the client to reproduce images at will. The contracts must be in hand when making prints/enlargements etc., since the contract contains clear phraseology stating the printing rights granted to you the client by the photographer.

How To Take Over From There: The CD’s may be used in making unlimited prints and enlargements for personal use and enjoyment. (In other words, not for resale purposes.) The CD’s are capable of print enlargement up to size 12x18. Available sizes include wallets, 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, 8x8, 8x10, 8x12, 12x12, 11x14, and 12x18.
For Enlargements larger than 12x18: In the event the client desires enlargements larger than 12x18, client must order through the photographer, as large sizes can involve custom printing.

Medium format portrait photography is also available and is negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

Travel Expenses: Client agrees to pay all travel expenses for events planned any further away than one hour than Downtown Portland Oregon.

Returned Check Charge: There will be a $50.00 fine for returned checks.

Circumstances Beyond Photographer’s Control: NW Local Exposure takes the utmost care with respect to the generating of Wedding imagery. However in the event the photographer fails to comply with the terms of this contract due to any event or act outside the control of the photographer, including but not limited to death, illness, or extreme weather conditions, the photographer’s liability is limited to a full refund of all monies retained in advance.

Can Anyone Else Take Photos? The client agrees that NW Local Exposure along with any professional accompanying assistants shall be exclusive in providing the professional photography services retained for the wedding portraits, ceremony and reception. Family and friends of the client ARE permitted to photograph the wedding and family pictures AS LONG AS they do not interfere with the photographer’s efforts. NW Local exposure will not be responsible for missed or ruined pictures cause by “other photographers”.
Please note: The formal Bride and Groom portrait session will be done in private. It is best that either the Bride or the Photographer brings an assistant during this portion of the day. Family, friends and videographers are NOT permitted to photograph poses arranged by the photographer during any formal Bride and Groom portrait session. (Client Initial Here _____)

To reserve the time and date agreed upon: Sign, date, and provide a deposit in the amount of $500.00. NW Local Exposure will reserve your wedding date for you and will not make other reservations for that date and time. A loss can result by turning down other bookings, so for this reason, the reservation deposit of $500.00 is non-refundable. NW Local Exposure reserves the right to use the whatever images are created for advertising, display, endorsement, publication or any other purposes thought proper by the photographer, without prior written consent by the client.

Photographer’s Base Rate: $2,000.00 plus expenses incurred as described above.
ADDENDUM: IF the full 9 hours is not needed, a deduction will being taken at the rate of $100.00 an hour. However, if the photographer is asked to stay beyond 8pm, the hourly rate will be $100.00/hour.

Deposit Required: $500.00
